{"id":272,"date":"2026-07-21T13:06:21","date_gmt":"2026-07-21T11:06:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/aerelisadvisory.eu\/?p=272"},"modified":"2026-09-07T14:15:06","modified_gmt":"2026-09-07T12:15:06","slug":"my-third-venture-capital-experience-brought-me-into-the-world-of-deeptech","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/aerelisadvisory.eu\/fr\/2026\/07\/21\/my-third-venture-capital-experience-brought-me-into-the-world-of-deeptech\/","title":{"rendered":"My third Venture Capital experience brought me into the world of DeepTech."},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">After discovering \u00dcMA, improving women&#8217;s health through science\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2026and Birdia, using AI to solve concrete operational challenges\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2026I found myself exploring a completely different frontier.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Physics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Plasma.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Hydrogen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This is where I came across&nbsp; <strong>SPARK Cleantech<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">What immediately fascinated me was not simply the technology.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It was the ambition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Some startups improve existing processes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Others rethink them from first principles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">SPARK belongs to the second category.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Its objective is to produce low-carbon hydrogen through an innovative <strong>cold plasma<\/strong> process that separates methane into two valuable products:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>hydrogen,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>and solid carbon.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Instead of releasing carbon into the atmosphere, the process keeps it in solid form while aiming for a significantly lower electricity demand than conventional electrolysis. It also opens the door to progressively integrating renewable biomethane as feedstock.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Whether this technology ultimately becomes one of tomorrow&#8217;s industrial standards remains to be seen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">That is the nature of DeepTech.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Long development cycles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Scientific uncertainty.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Industrial validation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Scale-up.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Execution matters as much as invention.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But this is precisely what makes DeepTech so exciting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It reminds us that the energy transition will not rely on one single technology.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It will require multiple complementary solutions, each addressing different constraints around energy, infrastructure, cost and resources.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This investment also reinforced another conviction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Europe\u2014and France in particular\u2014still possesses extraordinary scientific talent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The challenge is no longer generating ideas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It is transforming research into industrial businesses capable of changing markets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">That journey is undoubtedly more demanding than building software.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But when it succeeds, the impact can be measured over decades.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And perhaps that is one of the most inspiring lessons I have learned over the past months.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Innovation is not only about moving faster.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Sometimes, it is about thinking differently enough to change the rules of the game.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>After discovering \u00dcMA, improving women&#8217;s health through science\u2026 \u2026and Birdia, using AI to solve concrete operational challenges\u2026 \u2026I found myself exploring a completely different frontier.
